HABLA (Hispanic Achievement & Business Leadership Awards), is dedicated to recognizing the achievements and successes of Atlanta’s Hispanic business community. In order to keep the community moving forward, HABLA and the Lanza Group believe educating our youth is the best path to success. This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors or current college freshmen or sophomores to help reach their goals with some additional assistance.
Entries for the scholarship must be received by September 26, 2010 at midnight EST.

Also, keep the Joe Francomano Scholarship in mind this year. It’s for 4 years at $5,000 a pop! To be eligible all you have to do is watch The Sopranos and compare and contrast the series to The Godfather & Jersey Shore in 500 words or less.

This week-long program will provide rising 9th & 10th grade female students in Georgia the unique chance to spend time with accomplished women in technology and learn how they achieved their career goals, including how they made their educational choices and overcame obstacles along the way. Participants will get to see what it’s really like in the workplace, what career opportunities exist, and what it means to be a woman in technology.

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) has announced four new scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students interested in working in the water industry. The application deadline for these is May 10, 2010. Each of the scholarships will award the selected student five thousand dollars. Winners will be announced by June 1, and will be publicly recognized at AWWA’s Annual Conference (ACE10) later that month.

The40th edition of the Next Generation Leaders Conference, formerly CANJAC & jaXchange, sponsored by JA Canada, Xerox, and Queen’s School of Business in Kingston, Ontario, Canada takes place from August 7th - 12th and is a fantastic experience for 200 of the best and brightest JA students from around the world! The conference is open to all students who participated in the JA Company program, which you did as a JA Fellow.
The high school students who attend the Next Generation Leaders Forum are many of the highest potential youth in the world, and the next leaders of industry and society.
Participants face real business challenges and develop strategies in collaboration with their global peers, University faculty and Industry volunteers. The experiences prepare them with leadership skills so they can lead organizations of the future.
